The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead represents the true core of the Christian faith. The Christian church is built on this foundation, and without it there would be no church. Several other religions have strong concepts about afterlife, ethical systems, and even scriptures that they consider to be holy. Only Christianity has a God who became human, died for His people, and was resurrected with all power and glory in His hands to rule over His church forever! That’s the kind of God I want to serve!
Here are 7 reasons the resurrection means so much to Christians:
Since Christ was raised from the dead we know that the kingdom of Heaven has truly descended down into Earth, allowing us a chance at redemption and a “new life” in Christ Jesus
The resurrection confirms the fact that death has been conquered, and that we too will be resurrected to live with Christ forever
The resurrection give the Church the authority to witness to the world; in the early sermons in the book Acts the most important message was the the Savior has risen!
The resurrection gives meaning to the observance of the Lord’s Supper
The resurrection offers hope for our walk as Christians, knowing that we can look towards a future that God has already provided victory for
The resurrection assures that God is indeed alive and real, and ruling His kingdom
The power that resurrected Jesus is available to us as Christians today, so that we can live for Him in the midst of an evil world
